There is a built-in weather widget in Windows 11 that gives basic weather information like temperature, precipitation, and the weather forecast for the next week.
But a good weather app can do a lot more. It can let you know about hurricanes and other extreme weather, as well as the quality of the air, so you can plan your trips appropriately.
Best Weather Apps
1. The Windows 11 Weather Widget
There is a Weather widget in the bottom left area of the taskbar in Windows 11. To see all the widgets, move your mouse over or click on the Widget button.
The Weather app shows you the weather information you need to make plans for the day. Along with the present temperature, it shows the lowest and highest temperatures for the day and the next few days. It also shows how cloudy it is.
It gets information from the MSN web app for weather forecasts. If you click on any weather situation, the web app will show you more information. Still, it’s a simple app for people who want to know what the day’s temperature is and if it’s going to rain.
Click the three dots and choose Customise from the menu that comes up. You can switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit and change where you are here.
2. MSN Weather
Microsoft made the weather app MSN Weather. It tells you the most up-to-date weather information and helps you plan your day based on what the day looks like.
The app has a beautiful interface that shows your location, the current temperature, and the cloudiness level at a look. You can see other information as well, such as the Air Quality Index (ACI), dew points, wind speed, humidity, and sight.
Every hour, you can see details from up to ten days ago. In the Day Details area, you can find information about the forecast for day, night, and moon phases. To see weather records for the same day in the last 30 years, scroll all the way to the bottom of the page.
You can see how the temperature has changed over the last 24 hours by clicking on the weather map. You can also see how clouds form and how much rain falls from space during the same time frame.
3. Foreca Weather
The Windows app Foreca Weather is a weather forecaster with a clean interface and lots of ways to make it your own. It can automatically find your location and show you weather reports from more than 140000 places, which is pretty cool.
Foreca Weather is different from other apps because it can predict the weather for five and ten days ahead of time. You can see at a look the current weather conditions, such as the temperature, wind speed, and how it feels. But it doesn’t have tools for humidity, visibility, or the Air Quality Index.
You can also see a picture of clouds and rain throughout the day and be notified when it starts to rain. By adding places to your “Favourites,” you can see weather predictions for more than one place at the same time.
In addition, you can change the app’s settings to get rain and snow alerts for your current location and your favourite place. You can also change the time format, temperature scale between Fahrenheit and Celsius, and wind and rain measurement units.
4. The Weather 14 Days
The Weather 14 Days app for Windows is a nicely made weather forecaster. It allows multiple locations, rain maps, animated radar, and weather alerts, and it shows the weather for the next 14 days.
The app automatically figures out where you are and shows you the basic weather information, like temperature, humidity, and hourly weather for the next 12 hours. If you click on any date in the next 14 days, you’ll see more information about that date. The new style shows the weather, including wind speed, the highest and lowest temperatures, and more.
You can also add more than one place, see rain and snow maps, and see animated forecasts on radar and satellite images.
5. MyRadar
Windows users may not use MyRadar as much, but over 50 million people have downloaded it on iOS and Android. It’s a weather app that shows you animated weather maps for where you are right now.
Scroll-to-zoom lets you choose your area or see other parts of the map. Once the area has been chosen, click on the predictions icon to see a quick look at the temperature, Air Quality Index, and rain or snow predictions.
For the next 24 hours, as well as up to 10 days, you can see what the weather will be like in terms of temperature, precipitation, winds, and cloud cover. It also sends you push messages with weather warnings and alerts in your area.
On the other hand, not all countries can use MyRadar, which could also make it less accurate. Because of this, it’s more likely to give someone in Santa Fe a correct weather report than someone in India. This means that your mileage may be different based on where you live.
6. SimpleWeather
As its name suggests, SimpleWeather is a simple weather app that lets you check the predictions for where you are and other places. The day’s present, highest, and lowest temperatures are shown on the home screen. As you scroll down, the next few days’ weather predictions, hourly weather information, the UV Index, and the Air Quality Index will show up.
You can choose the area, how often the weather forecast will be updated, and the unit of measurement you want for the temperature when you set up the app. You can see severe weather reports, the weather radar, and your favourite places in the left pane.
Most of the time, SimpleWeather works well. However, when you try to use the radar function, it crashes. Also, it doesn’t save the first setup settings, so you have to do them all over again.
7. StrawBerry Weather
StrawBerry Weather is a small Windows app that tells you about the weather. It has a simple layout and shows weather information for up to five days, such as temperature, cloud information, wind, humidity, and pressure.
It uses OpenWeatherMap by default to get up-to-date information on the present weather and the next five days. If you want more accurate hyperlocal weather predictions more often, you can change the weather data source to Dark Sky.
