The main reason you share things on Instagram is to get more people to follow you. Some of your fans may stop following you, though. It can be hard to figure out who has stopped following you on Instagram, but don’t worry—we’ve done it for you.
If someone unfollows you on Instagram, you won’t be notified right away. However, you can use official tools in the Instagram app to see who removed their follower. This eliminates the need for third-party services that could cost you money or use your personal information in a bad way. Breathe in deeply, calm down, and take your time with these steps.
How to see who unfollowed you on Instagram
Since Instagram doesn’t tell you when someone unfollows you, the easiest way to find out is to check your friend list. Depending on how many followers you have, this could take a lot of time.
The better option is to download a copy of your account information, especially a report that shows your followers over a certain time range.
Step 1: When you open the app on your iPhone or Android, make sure you’re logged into your Instagram account.
Step 2: Next, go to the bottom right and click on Your account.
Step 3: Click on Followers and look over your list of followers to see who is no longer there.
You can also get a copy of your Instagram data to see who stopped following you. To do so, pick out your profile in the Instagram app, then tap the menu button in the upper right corner.
Step 4: Go to the Accounts Center.
Step 5: Select “Your Information and Permissions” at the very bottom of the subsequent page.
Step 6: Pick Get the information you need.
Step 7:
- Pick Once you’re done downloading.
- Pick out your Instagram page from the list if you have one.
- Click “Next.”
Step 8: On the next page, under “Connections,” check the box that says “Following and following.” Then, click “Next.”
Step 9: Pick out your Instagram account from the list, then click “Next.” For this to work, you need to either have more than one Instagram account or use Facebook.
Step 10: Pick the choice of some of the details you have.
Step 11: Check the box next to Followers and follow under Connections. Then click Next.
Step 12: Pick a place to save your file, then press “Next.”
Step 13: Pick a date range, like “All Time,” for your report, and then click “Create Files.”
Step 14: You will get two emails. The first one will say that a report is being made, and the second one will say that the process is finished. When you get the second email, go back to Instagram and click on Download next to the report’s name.
Step 15: To get the report, enter your Instagram login.
Step 16: The report can now be opened in the place where you sent it. It will contain information about followers.
Step 17: Once you have your saved list of followers, you can compare it to your current number of followers to see who has stopped following you. This will take longer if you have a lot of fans, but it’s the best and safest way to find out who has stopped following you.
It takes a lot of steps to figure out why someone stopped following you on Instagram. The process does work, though, and all you need is a phone with the Instagram app on it. You can decide for yourself if all of this is worth it to find out who unfollowed you. If it is, here’s how you can do it.
