A lot of time is spent on the internet trying to figure out how to tell AIs best what to do so they make the right pictures, or sometimes the wrong ones. Does that sound fun? Midjourney is a well-known AI tool that lets people make dreamy scenes and characters with just a few words.
Happy news for people who want to try Midjourney: it’s free to sign up, and you can use the AI maker right away. Everything you need to know to start using it.
How to start using Midjourney
Step 1: Make sure you know how to join Discord. Midjourney can only be used on Discord, so you’ll need to sign up for an account there. You can also join Discord for free if you haven’t already done so.
Step 2: Go to the page called “Midroute.” Pick. You can take the test if you want to. This will take you right to an invite on Discord.
Step 3: Accept Midjourney’s Discord invite. Pick to Keep going to Discord.
Step 4: Your Discord app will only open with help. When it does, click on the leave menu button, which looks like a ship.
Step 5: Look for the Newcomer rooms in the Midjourney channels. There are usually a lot of new player rooms open, with names like “newbies-108.” You can start with any of these.
Step 6: You may now create AI art. Before starting the free trial, remember that you can only choose so many prompts. You may make 25 free photos. After that, you’ll need a complete membership. Consider what you want to make on Midjourney if you don’t want to spend. Look for tips by typing “/help”.
Step 7: When ready, type “/imagine” in your newbie’s room chat. This opens a field for photo description. The AI will perform better if you describe anything specifically. Explain what you want and provide a style. If you follow the regulations and keep things clean, you shouldn’t have any problems.
Press Enter to send your prompt when you’re done.
Step 8: Allow Midjourney one minute to make your pictures. Based on what you say, the AI will usually make a few different forms. You now have several choices for how to move forward.
Below the photographs are U and V buttons with 1–4 on them. The numbers match Midjourney’s four photos. If you choose U, the picture will be larger and more precise. Choose V to create a new image from the existing one. You can also click the side button for fresh photographs. Each decision will take up some of your free tips, so make sure you want to proceed before doing so.
Step 9: If you pick a picture you like and press U to make it bigger, you’ll be given more choices. You can, among other things, Change that picture, Scan it at full size before you download it, or Do a Light Scan redo if it’s not quite what you wanted.
When you’re done, choose the Envelope emoji and add it to your chat to send the picture straight to yourself. That lets you save the picture and get it whenever you want.
Step 10: If you want to use Midjourney a lot, go to any bot channel in Midjourney’s Discord and type “/subscribe.” This makes a link that you can use to pay for a contract.
